I Love You In Arabic Writing

Hi dear all!!

I'm argentinian and my boyfriend too but there is a little difference... he has arabian blood so I'd love to surprise him saying "I love you" in arabic, but I want to do it by the right way. I've found many ways to say it such as 'Ana Bahebak' or 'Ana Bahebek' among others.

This looks more like "I have love for you" or something. I don't know how Arabic dialects work, I've never studied one, but in standard Arabic this is أحبك u7ibbuka. The sound transliterated 7 is like a strong English h, almost like a Castilian Spanish j but a bit farther down in the throat.

The word ana (I) is not needed in this case. Maybe it is in the examples you provided, some speaker of an Arabic dialect can tell us.

In spoken Arabic, I love you would be bahibbak, as you're saying it to a man. If it were to a woman, it would be bahibbik instead.
Talib's right, uhibbuka or uhibbuki would be how to say it in formal Arabic, but this is not a spoken language (apart from on the news, political speeches etc.), so it's hard to see when you'd ever use that version!
So you'd say bahibbak to your boyfriend, pronouncing the 'h' how Talib described it.

I unserstand what you mean,anyway I'd appreciate if the word I'm looking for could be written in english phonetic because that will be the way I'll write it later to my boyfriend.

Uhibbuka is the best way I can write it. That's in written Arabic.

I see it's bahibbak, then, in spoken Arabic.

And in either way the word ana (I) is not needed.

So write one and say the other, I think? Or you could write it in Arabic script: أحبك for the first one, بحبك for the second.

if your saying it for a boy you say ' ana bahebak
for a girl you have o say " ana bahabik"

I just wanted to point out that ba7ibbak (bahebak) means I love you in some dialects (though it would be understood by anyone). There are other ways to construct this. Do you know where your boyfriend is from?

I just noticed you're a Spanish speaker so I wanted to caution you on the pronunciation of "bahebbak".

In Spanish, the letter "H" is not pronounced (hombre= ombre.....hotel=otel....hondo=ondo......hija=ija) etc.

But the "H" in Arabic "bahebbak" is pronounced very strongly (indeed, you might say it's the "strongest" letter in the phrase....the most obvious).

This Arabic H most closely resembles Spanish J as in "jota, joven, ajeno, Jaime, etc. so be sure you pronounce it that way.

Some other points:

1. the "stress" or "accent" is on the "e"....so it's ba HE bbak....not BA he bbak nor ba he BBAK

2. "e" is pronounced like in Spanish "e". (Not like in English "me").

3. notice that everyone is using a double (b). This letter is not only spelled with a double (b) but it's also pronounced "doubly".
Just try to make it longer than a regular (b).....keep your lips closed for a fraction of a second longer than you normally would.

A good approximation is how you would say the Spanish word "APURATE" (hurry up). The (P) in that word closely resembles the Arabic (BB) in "bahebbak"

So if you follow my suggestions, the Arabic word transliterated into Spanish would be ba JE pak
